International Contacts

The Council has always believed that it cannot function in isolation and thus has explored the possibilities of making international contacts. The aspiration of the Naxxar Local Council is that the efforts will lead to various opportunities for the Council and its residents through shared experiences and exchanges.

The work done in the past few years by the Naxxar Local Council has resulted in very close contacts with two foreign localities, with which a collaboration agreement was signed. These two localities are the Second District of the City of Bucharest in Romania and the town of Hailsham in the United Kingdom.

Also, on a regular basis, the Council makes it a point to hold various meetings with foreign ambassadors residing in Malta. It is also interesting to note that Naxxar is often chosen as the residence of various foreign ambassadors and which include the United Kingdom, Australia, Greece, Belgium and Portugal amongst others.
